It might be a little too early to tell if Fennec, the mobile version of Firefox, will revolutionize mobile browsing on Android devices, but the project is making headway. Yesterday a few photos were posted on the Firefox for mobile Facebook page showing the browser running on the Nexus One and Motorola Droid.

Droid, Motorola’s latest Android-based offering, might just be the first step towards changing the face of the smartphone industry
They revolutionised the face of the mobile phone industry with an aircraft aluminum clad skin fit phone called the Motorola RAZR. What followed was a scurry amongst other companies to get a slick design like the RAZR. Motorola too tried to better its best but ended up with a string of flops.
But redemption seems to have come with Motorola finally shedding the Windows Mobile platform for the Google Android base. This time Motorola magic is is in the form of the new Droid. In the US, forging alliances with both Google and Verizon, the Droid is expected to reclaim Motorola’s lost empire and also take on the might of the iPhone. So what can you expect when the Droid finally comes to India.
The moment I pulled the slender black beast out of the box, it reminded me of Storm Shadow from GI Joe. I don’t know why, but the fluidity of the phone combined with the hard edges and angular slopes gave a very solid and yet very skinny and expensive feel to the phone.

Tech research firm Gartner this week released a report which said that Google’s Android OS went from a 0.5 percent market share in 2008 up to 3.9 percent by the end of 2009, and that the rival iPhone more than doubled the size of its user base as well.
Roberta Cozza, a principal research analyst at Gartner, said that "Android’s success experienced in the fourth quarter of 2009 should continue into 2010 as more manufacturers launch Android products, but some CSPs and manufacturers have expressed growing concern about Google’s intentions in the mobile market." Any discontent among manufacturers and telecoms could hinder the OS’ progress in 2010, she said.

What smartphone click rates tell use about the people who own them

Source: AdMob
Android users are mostly guys. iPod touch owners are overwhelmingly young. And people who carry iPhones are way more likely to lust after an iPad.
Those are a few of differences that emerged from a opt-in survey of 963 smartphone and iPod touch owners conducted in February by AdMob, the mobile advertising company that Google snapped up in November for $750 million.
In a report issued Thursday morning, AdMob highlights six differences between owners of devices running Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone OS, Google’s (GOOG) Android OS and Palm’s (PALM) WebOS, each nicely illustrated with a color-coded bar chart. See below.
